FG Plans Media Tour to Showcase Achievements Amid Criticism
FG Media Tour to Highlight Achievements

The Federal Government has announced plans to embark on a nationwide media tour to address allegations of poor performance over the past three years. This initiative, organized by the Renewed Hope Ambassadors led by Governor Hope Uzodimma, aims to highlight the current administration’s developmental achievements across Nigeria amid growing criticism.

Government Defends Performance

Speaking in Abuja, the Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, stated that the administration has performed creditably in infrastructure and other critical sectors. He attributed rising criticisms to a lack of awareness of the government’s accomplishments. Onanuga emphasized that only a nationwide tour of physical projects would convince Nigerians of the substantial investments made to improve living standards.

He condemned the continuous vandalism of public infrastructure, such as rail tracks, by unscrupulous individuals, noting that such actions disrupt socio-economic activities and inflict pain on innocent citizens. “The tour will not only showcase the Federal Government’s projects but also those of state governments. With more funds released from the centre, states have more money for project execution,” he said.

Renewed Hope Ambassadors' Role

Tunde Rahman, Director of Media for the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, noted that people’s initiatives implemented by Tinubu’s administration in the North-West would help counter allegations of poor performance in the region. “Coming under the auspices of Renewed Hope Ambassadors, we are only trying to showcase all the achievements of Tinubu’s administration to prove that a lot has been done in the past three years,” Rahman said.

He described the Renewed Hope Ambassadors as more than a campaign platform, calling it a deliberate, structured architecture for mass civic engagement, public enlightenment, and policy communication. “Its central purpose is to bridge the persistent gap between government action and citizens’ understanding, a gap that has historically undermined trust and fuelled misinformation and weakened reform outcomes,” he added.

Reforms and Tour Details

The ambassadors noted that since taking office, President Tinubu has embarked on bold reforms aimed at stabilizing the economy, restoring confidence, and laying the foundation for sustainable growth. The media tour is set to begin in Kaduna later this week. Rahman urged the media to articulate all they see for public enlightenment, highlighting that significant progress has been made in road and rail transport across the north.
