Ondo State Moves to Establish Mobile Courts for Traffic Violators

The Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice of Ondo State, Dr. Kayode Ajulo SAN, has unveiled plans to set up mobile courts dedicated to handling traffic offenses and violations across the state. This initiative, disclosed on Friday in Akure, the state capital, is designed to enhance order on the newly developed road networks and bolster the ongoing infrastructure efforts led by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

Collaborative Effort for Swift Justice

Dr. Ajulo emphasized that the mobile courts are being developed in partnership with the Chief Judge of Ondo State to ensure that justice is delivered promptly and efficiently. These courts will operate flexibly throughout various locations in the state, focusing on correcting poor traffic behavior and discouraging violations, rather than merely punishing offenders. The goal is to foster a culture of discipline among all road users, including drivers, commercial riders, and pedestrians.

Promoting Patriotism Through Road Safety

In his address to newsmen, the Justice Commissioner urged citizens to view adherence to traffic rules as an act of patriotism. He stressed that the success of the government's substantial investments in infrastructure hinges on how responsibly these assets are utilized by the public. "The mobile courts will ensure that every violation is quickly addressed, protecting the benefits of our development and ensuring the safety of our people," Ajulo stated. "The rule of law must accompany every vehicle on our beautifully rebuilt roads."

Commending Infrastructure Achievements

Dr. Ajulo praised Governor Aiyedatiwa for the significant physical development sweeping across Ondo State, particularly highlighting the beautification projects in Akure. He noted that the new road intersections and stylish traffic lights have elevated the state capital to world-class standards, rivaling those of major global cities. "Governor Aiyedatiwa is not just building roads; he is creating a legacy of excellence, order, and beauty," he remarked. "These world-class intersections, featuring elegant traffic lights that combine technology with design, have transformed Akure into a capital that instills pride in every resident and visitor."

A Call for Collective Responsibility

The Attorney General concluded by calling for a shared commitment to road safety and legal compliance. "True progress is not defined by concrete alone, but by the shared commitment of the people to follow the rules that make our space safe and peaceful," he asserted. "Let us align the Governor's vision with our own dedication to order." This move underscores Ondo State's proactive approach to integrating judicial measures with urban development to ensure sustainable growth and public safety.
