ADC Faction Holds National Convention, Warns Against Sabotage

The acting National Working Committee (NWC) chairman of the Dr. Dumebi Kachukwu faction of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Kingsley Temitope Ogah, has issued a stern warning that the party will not tolerate indiscipline, lawlessness, or acts of sabotage as it prepares for the 2027 general elections.

Ogah made this statement during the 2026 non-elective special national convention of the ADC held in Abuja on Sunday. He emphasized that millions of Nigerians are eagerly waiting to vote the party into power in 2027.

He criticized the current Nigerian leadership for lacking the courage and innovative ideas needed to address insecurity and revive the economy for the benefit of all citizens.

Ogah assured that the ADC would work tirelessly to promote national unity, economic prosperity, and the welfare of Nigerians, many of whom are currently suffering from hunger and poverty.

According to him, “We are more organized and determined than ever to lead Nigeria to prosperity. Our membership is expanding, and more Nigerians are identifying with our party. We will not allow indiscipline, selfishness, or recklessness because Nigerians are looking for alternatives, and we are here to offer that alternative.”

He extended an olive branch to all former members who had left the party for various reasons, stating, “We believe that many of our members have drifted away, but we are ready to welcome you back. Our doors are open to them, and we are building a movement that goes beyond winning elections.”

Ogah also highlighted that the ADC had faced sabotage from destructive forces, but those negative elements had faded away. He declared, “The ADC is bigger than any personal interest.”

He noted that Nigerians are waiting for competence and are tired of political divisions and bitterness. “They are looking for a strong platform, and the ADC presents that platform. We are not the first to face turbulence, and we will not be the last. We have survived, and we are rising. The hope of those who believed in us will not be in vain,” he added.

Earlier, the chairman of the convention planning committee and chairman of the Benue state chapter of the party, Elias Adukwu, said the party had made tremendous progress. He described the convention as more than just a party gathering, calling it a day when Nigerians began to resolve for good leadership. He commended those who held the ground during the storm.
