All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders in Yobe State have endorsed Senator Ibrahim Mohammed Bomai as the party's consensus candidate for the Yobe South Senatorial District ahead of the 2027 general elections. The endorsement followed extensive consultations among party leaders, elders, and political stakeholders across the senatorial district, aimed at maintaining unity and cohesion within the APC in the state.
Affirmation Ceremony in Potiskum
The affirmation ceremony took place on Monday at the Federal College of Education Multipurpose Hall in Potiskum Local Government Area. It was conducted by the Speaker of the Yobe State House of Assembly, Buba Mashio, in the presence of APC chieftains, youth groups, stakeholders, and supporters from various local government areas within the district. Party officials stated that the decision to adopt Bomai as the consensus candidate was reached after extensive consultations designed to prevent internal divisions and ensure a smooth political process ahead of the elections.
Bomai's Political Journey
Senator Bomai had earlier withdrawn from the Yobe governorship race before eventually emerging as the consensus candidate for the senatorial ticket. Supporters at the event expressed confidence in his ability to continue representing the district's interests, citing his political experience and contributions to the development of the APC in Yobe State.

Addressing party members after the affirmation, Bomai thanked party leaders and supporters for the confidence reposed in him and pledged continued dedication to the service of the district. "I remain committed to serving our people diligently and ensuring that the interests of Yobe South continue to receive the attention they deserve."
