Ogun APC Primary Violence: Elegbeji Calls for Peace in Sagamu

Supporters of Princess Adesola Ayoola-Elegbeji have strongly condemned the violence that allegedly disrupted the All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives primary election in Ward 10, Ogijo, and Ward 14, Agbowa, within Sagamu Local Government Area of Ogun State. The supporters described the incidents as unfortunate and contrary to democratic principles, emphasizing that the electoral process must be conducted peacefully and without intimidation.

Call for Peaceful Conduct

In a statement released on Friday, the group stated that Ayoola-Elegbeji remains dedicated to peace, fairness, and issue-based politics, warning against actions that could undermine unity within the constituency. Reacting to the disturbances, Ayoola-Elegbeji asserted that political ambition should never jeopardize human lives or public peace. She highlighted that the Remo Federal Constituency has long been recognized for its political maturity and peaceful coexistence.

Appeal to Stakeholders

The lawmaker urged party faithful and stakeholders to embrace dialogue, tolerance, and respect for democratic values as political activities intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections. She called on security agencies and party leaders to ensure fairness and adequate monitoring in future exercises to prevent a recurrence of violence in Ogijo, Agbowa, and other parts of Sagamu Local Government Area.
