Prominent Politician Olufemi Ajadi Switches Allegiance to PDP
In a significant political development, Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo, the former governorship candidate for the New Nigeria People's Party (NNPP) in Ogun State, has officially resigned from his party and joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The businessman and politician announced this major decision on Monday, 10 November 2025, describing it as a strategic move aimed at contributing to Nigeria's political stability and national renewal.

Ajadi made his announcement during a press briefing held in Ogun State, explaining that his decision came after extensive contemplation about the country's current challenges and political direction. He had previously contested the 2023 Ogun State governorship election under the NNPP banner, after stepping down as a presidential aspirant to support Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
In his resignation letter addressed to multiple NNPP officials across ward, state, zonal, and national levels, Ajadi emphasized that his departure was guided by conviction rather than discontent. The politician was careful to clarify that his defection wasn't motivated by personal grievances. "There is no bad blood between me and my former party," Ajadi assured.
