Omo-Agege Backs Tinubu, Seeks Senate Return

Former Deputy Senate President Ovie Omo-Agege has expressed strong support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's economic policies while announcing his intention to return to the Senate in the 2027 general elections. Speaking at a large gathering in Oromurhu-Orogun, Ughelli North Local Government Area, Omo-Agege urged party members to prepare for the upcoming primaries.

Omo-Agege praised Tinubu's economic reforms, stating that they have significantly increased resources available to states. He acknowledged the challenges but emphasized that the reforms are necessary and will yield positive outcomes for the people. He called on APC members to organize themselves and participate actively in the primaries.

Senatorial Ambition

Omo-Agege disclosed that he has formally accepted the call by his constituents to contest for the Delta Central Senatorial seat. He noted that his appearance was not a fresh declaration but a reaffirmation of earlier announcements. He highlighted key projects he facilitated, including the Federal Polytechnic Orogun, Nigerian Defence Space School in Urhoboland, and Federal University of Medical and Health Sciences in Kwale.

Omo-Agege emphasized the transformative potential of the Oil and Gas Industrial Park project, which he influenced as Deputy Senate President. He described it as a project of greater magnitude than the three tertiary institutions combined, promising 24-hour electricity to communities like Orogun, Abraka, and Eku, driving economic growth.

Campaign Strategy

He vowed to work relentlessly to ensure victory for all APC candidates, from presidency to state assemblies. He referenced local strategies such as 'six over six' in Ughelli North and 'five over five' in other local governments, reflecting a commitment to total victory.
