The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in Saturday's governorship election in Ekiti State, Wole Oluyede, has emerged victorious in his polling unit at Osagburu Hall/Oke Oloti in Ikere, Ekiti State. The opposition candidate secured 113 votes, while his opponent from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) garnered 84 votes. The African Democratic Congress (ADC) received two votes, and the Social Democratic Party (SDP) got one vote.

Following the counting of votes, dozens of Ikere residents who had been awaiting the polling unit results at the venue trooped out to rejoice and dance, celebrating the outcome. The atmosphere was charged with excitement as supporters of the PDP candidate expressed their joy.
