In a significant political development, Queen Chinyere Tim-Opurum has formally joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) at her Dim-Na Nume Isu ward in Nwangele Council, Imo State. The event, held on April 2, 2026, attracted a large gathering of party leaders, stalwarts, and stakeholders from across the local government, who warmly welcomed her into the APC fold.

During her remarks, Queen Tim-Opurum, affectionately known as Opuruiche Nwanyi, expressed her dedication to addressing the representation gap within the Nkwerre/Isu/Nwangele/Njaba (NINN) Federal Constituency. She outlined her plans to empower youths, enhance grassroots development, and ensure that the dividends of democracy are effectively delivered to the people. The newly elected Chairman of Nwangele APC, Paschal Iwuala, assured Queen Tim-Opurum of inclusivity in party programmes and encouraged her to actively engage in its affairs. Similarly, Chairman of Nwangele Council, Chief Paul Duru, urged her to remain resilient and loyal, drawing from his own decades-long political journey as an example of patience and perseverance. "Your entry into the APC is a boost for our party, and we look forward to your contributions," said Iwuala.

Queen Tim-Opurum thanked the APC leadership for the warm reception and pledged her support for the party from the ward to constituency level. She aligned herself with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, emphasizing her track record as a community leader. She highlighted past initiatives, including:
