President Bola Tinubu has taken a significant step toward seeking re-election in the 2027 general elections by obtaining the All Progressives Congress (APC) Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms. The forms were collected on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, on his behalf by Honorable James Faleke, a federal lawmaker representing the Ikeja Federal Constituency.
Form Collection Details
Faleke, who also serves as the consensus candidate for the APC in Lagos State alongside incumbent Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat, received the documents from the party's National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Argungu. The acquisition followed the payment of N100 million, covering both the nomination and expression of interest forms.
Election Timeline
The Presidential and National Assembly elections are scheduled to take place on February 20, 2027, while the governorship and state assembly elections are set for March 6, 2027. This move positions Tinubu as the APC's flagbearer for the upcoming presidential contest.
By securing the forms early, the president demonstrates his commitment to continuing his leadership agenda and rallying support within the party. The development is expected to shape political dynamics as the election season approaches.
