Amaechi to Tinubu: 'Enough!' Offers Rivers State Help on Security Crisis
Amaechi Offers Tinubu Help on Nigeria Security Crisis

Former Minister of Transportation, Rt Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, has delivered a strong message to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration, condemning the federal government's inability to control the escalating security situation across Nigeria.

Nationwide Attacks Demand Immediate Action

Amaechi expressed deep concern over what he described as the government's lack of political will to protect citizens from the surge in violent incidents. The prominent politician highlighted multiple devastating attacks that occurred within a single week, painting a grim picture of the country's security landscape.

Among the incidents cited were attacks on civilians in Plateau State, the abduction of secondary schoolgirls in Kebbi, and a deadly ambush of soldiers in Borno State that resulted in the death and kidnapping of Brigadier General M. Uba. Amaechi also mentioned an attack on a church in Kwara State and the kidnapping of Rev. Fr. Bobbo Paschal in Kaduna.

Offer of Support and Call for Leadership

The former minister made a direct offer of assistance to the Tinubu-led government, pointing to his successful management of security challenges during his tenure as Rivers State governor. "We did it in Rivers State; it can be done in the country. We are prepared to help if you request help," Amaechi stated emphatically.

He stressed that decisive leadership and stronger coordination are urgently required to address the mounting crisis. Amaechi criticized what he called "watery statements of condemnation" and emphasized that the primary responsibility of any government is the security of lives and property.

Accountability and Tough Decisions Needed

Amaechi called on President Tinubu to make national security his top priority, urging him to investigate previous security failures and implement immediate reforms. "Prioritizing summits or jetting out while Nigerians are dying is not the trait of a good leader," he remarked, highlighting the need for accountability at the highest levels of government.

The former minister insisted that the Federal Government must strengthen military intelligence and tactical operations to meet the expectations of suffering Nigerians. His message comes amid growing public concern about security failures across multiple states, with many citizens demanding more effective protection from authorities.
