FCSC Assures Shortlisted Candidates CBT Will Be Held Soon

The Chairman of the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC), Prof. Tunji Olaopa, has assured shortlisted candidates for recruitment that a computer-based test (CBT) will soon be conducted for them. Olaopa gave the assurance in a statement he personally signed over the weekend in Abuja.

Clarification on Online Comments

Olaopa said the statement had become necessary to dispel online comments claiming that the CBT had been jettisoned because recruitment had already been conducted. He dismissed these comments as frivolous and unfounded, emphasizing that measures have been put in place for the CBT to be conducted for the shortlisted candidates.

Resource Provision

According to him, what remains is the adequate provision of resources to support the process. He added that as soon as the needed resources are made available, the CBT will be held. Olaopa urged shortlisted candidates to remain calm and await official communication from the commission on the recruitment process.

Interviews for Specific Categories

Giving further clarification, Olaopa explained that the commission only conducted interviews for persons with qualifications in the sciences, technical and vocational subjects, mathematics, and engineering-based subjects. This was in response to a request from the Federal Ministry of Education, which was in dire need of these categories of teachers in Federal Unity Schools. He noted that this exercise has not jeopardized the expected CBT.

Olaopa reiterated the commission's commitment to a transparent and fair recruitment process, urging candidates to disregard any misinformation circulating online. He assured that all shortlisted candidates will be given the opportunity to sit for the CBT as planned.
