FCT Police Start Psychological Tests, Bust JAMB Syndicate

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has initiated psychological testing for all officers under its jurisdiction. The exercise aims to evaluate their mental and emotional stability as part of broader efforts to improve professionalism within the force.

Commissioner Flags Off Exercise

Commissioner of Police Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi launched the program at the Maitama Police Command in Abuja. He urged officers to fully cooperate with the process, emphasizing that all results would remain strictly confidential. Each officer will receive their results privately, and necessary support measures will be implemented based on the outcomes.

Sanusi explained that the psychological evaluation is part of ongoing reforms within the command. The data collected will assist in planning and enhancing operational efficiency. He noted that all personnel will be adequately captured, followed by a confirmation stage to ensure accuracy of the assessment. The goal is to strengthen professionalism and ensure officers are mentally fit to perform their duties effectively.

JAMB Exam Syndicate Busted

In a separate development, the Force Headquarters has paraded four suspects allegedly involved in compromising the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination system during the recently concluded tertiary entrance exams. Force Public Relations Officer Anthony Placid briefed journalists in Abuja on Friday, stating that the suspects are under investigation and will be charged to court upon conclusion of the probe.

Placid reaffirmed the Nigeria Police Force's commitment to working with JAMB to safeguard the integrity of the examination process. He warned individuals attempting to undermine the system to desist immediately.

JAMB Responds

Reacting to the development, JAMB’s Public Relations Officer, Dr. Benjamin Fabian, said the board had anticipated such fraudulent activities. He stated that proactive measures had already been implemented from the board's headquarters in Abuja to detect and prevent exam malpractice. Fabian added that JAMB actively monitors all examination-related developments and will ensure that anyone involved in hacking or manipulating the system is apprehended.

Describing the suspects as part of a dangerous examination syndicate, Dr. Fabian confirmed that affected examination centers have been cancelled. Impacted candidates will be rescheduled for another sitting.
