Political activist Comrade Timi Frank has formally petitioned the United States government, urging an investigation and sanctions against the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, over remarks he alleges could severely undermine Nigeria's democratic framework. This demand follows a viral video where Gbajabiamila was recorded advising Hon. Leke Abejide at a private event to remain in the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and disrupt the party, rather than join the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Frank, a former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the APC, described Gbajabiamila's statements as reckless and dangerous, suggesting they indicate a deliberate strategy to weaken opposition parties and erode democratic institutions. He argued that such comments from a high-ranking official raise serious concerns about the Tinubu administration's commitment to democratic principles, potentially infringing on the independence of the judiciary. Frank emphasized that any perception of judicial influence could severely damage public trust in Nigeria's democratic processes.
