A coalition of civil society organizations has strongly criticized human rights activist Omoyele Sowore for alleging that Senator Ned Nwoko printed a Permanent Voter Card for his wife, actress Regina Daniels, at his residence.
Civil Society Group Issues Warning
The Coalition of Civil Society Organisations, operating under the banner of Global Gender Safety and Moral Development, issued a stern warning to Sowore regarding his claims about the senator's family. The group accused the activist of spreading false information about the federal lawmaker's household affairs.
In a statement released on Friday, November 14, 2025, and made available to journalists, the coalition's Executive Director, Ambassador Godwin Erheriene, condemned what he described as deliberate falsehoods against Senator Nwoko's family. The organization advised Sowore to refrain from interfering in the senator's personal matters.
Age Controversy and Political Motives
The coalition addressed the ongoing age controversy surrounding Regina Daniels' marriage to Senator Nwoko, noting attempts by certain individuals to politicize the issue ahead of the 2027 general elections. The group specifically referenced an alleged international passport circulating online that suggested Mrs. Regina Daniels was 17 years old at the time of her marriage.
The coalition firmly maintained that the passport being shared online is fake and affirmed that her correct date of birth is October 10, 1998, meaning she was 20 years old when she married Senator Ned Nwoko in 2019.
PVC Allegation Dismissed as Baseless
The civil society organization urged Nigerians to disregard online reports claiming that Senator Nwoko printed Regina Daniels' PVC at home. The coalition questioned the logic of such claims, pointing out that if the allegation were true, it would imply that the INEC Chairman is Senator Nwoko's staff and that the electoral body has compromised its practices.
The group emphasized the importance of independent verification through INEC and cautioned against relying on false documents spread across social media platforms. They advised citizens to focus on verifiable records rather than allowing political actors to manipulate personal matters for electoral gain.
The coalition's statement comes amid Sowore's release of new evidence against Senator Nwoko concerning his marriage to Regina Daniels. The activist has alleged falsified records and underage marriage, presenting what he claims is Regina's passport as evidence. Sowore has called for accountability, asserting that no political power should shield anyone from the law.
Meanwhile, in a related development, Regina Daniels' brother, Sammy West, has been released on bail after days in detention. Lawrence, another brother of the Nollywood actress, publicly thanked Nigerians for supporting the family and accused Senator Nwoko of influencing Sammy's arrest and pushing the case toward the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency.
