President Bola Tinubu is set to leave the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, on Saturday, December 21, 2025, for a significant working visit to three Nigerian states: Borno, Bauchi, and Lagos.

Official Announcement and Itinerary

The President's Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, officially disclosed the plans in a statement posted on his verified X account on Friday, December 20. The detailed itinerary outlines a packed schedule for the nation's leader.

The journey will commence in Borno State, where President Tinubu is scheduled to commission several development projects executed by the state government under Governor Babagana Zulum in collaboration with the Federal Government. His visit to Maiduguri will also include a personal engagement: attending the wedding ceremony of Sadeeq Sheriff, the son of former Borno Governor Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, who is set to marry Hadiza Kam Salem.

Condolence Visit and Holiday Engagements

From Maiduguri, President Tinubu will proceed to Bauchi State. The primary purpose of this leg of the tour is to offer condolences to the Bauchi State Government and the family of the late Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi. The revered Muslim cleric and leader of the Tijjaniyya Muslim Brotherhood passed away on November 27, 2025.

Following the solemn visit to Bauchi, the President will head to Lagos State to spend the upcoming end-of-year holidays. His stay in the commercial capital will feature several events, with a highlight being his role as the Guest of Honour at the Eyo Festival on December 27. The festival, to be held at Tafawa Balewa Square, will pay tribute to notable personalities, including the late Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji (President Tinubu's mother), former Governor Alhaji Lateef Jakande, and former Governor Chief Michael Otedola.

Budget Presentation: A Defining Moment

In a related development, President Tinubu, on Friday, presented the 2026 Appropriation Bill to a joint session of the National Assembly. He described the budget as a pivotal moment in the country's ongoing reform agenda.

"This budget represents a defining moment in our national journey of reform and transformation," the President stated at the National Assembly complex. Tinubu assured Nigerians that their sacrifices were paving the way for stability and prosperity. He framed the 2026 fiscal plan, themed "Budget of Consolidation, Renewed Resilience and Shared Prosperity," as a tool to lock in macroeconomic stability, boost competitiveness, and ensure growth benefits every citizen through jobs and improved quality of life.
