Trump Orders Release of Epstein Files, Claims 'Nothing to Hide'
Trump Demands Epstein Files Release, Calls It 'Hoax'

Former US President Donald Trump has made a dramatic call for the release of confidential documents related to the Jeffrey Epstein case, while simultaneously dismissing the entire matter as a political distraction engineered by his opponents.

Trump's Surprising Reversal on Epstein Documents

In a significant development on Sunday evening, President Trump took to his Truth Social platform to demand that House Republicans vote to release the Jeffrey Epstein files. This announcement came as a surprise to many, given his previous opposition to similar efforts by some Republican members of Congress.

The former president landed at Joint Base Andrews after spending the weekend in Florida when he made his position clear. "House Republicans should vote to release the Epstein files," Trump declared in his social media post. He emphasized his transparency by stating, "We have nothing to hide" while characterizing the investigation as a "Democrat Hoax" orchestrated by what he called "Radical Left Lunatics."

Legal Defense and Political Strategy

Trump's lawyer, David Schoen, who previously represented him during his second impeachment trial, provided legal reinforcement to the former president's claims. In a post that Trump shared on his platform, Schoen argued that if Epstein had possessed any compromising information about Trump, he would have used it as leverage during his criminal proceedings.

"The fact that he unequivocally said he had none ought to shut down the false claims otherwise," Schoen wrote, adding that "facts are no obstacle to political attacks." The lawyer also pointed to testimony from Epstein victim Virginia Giuffre, who stated under oath that Trump "did nothing inappropriate" in her dealings with him.

Trump revealed that his Department of Justice had already turned over tens of thousands of pages related to Epstein, suggesting that the complete files might actually damage Democratic figures including Bill Clinton, Larry Summers, and Reid Hoffman.

Political Feuds and Future Implications

The announcement marked a notable shift in Trump's position, coming after he had criticized Republican representatives like Marjorie Taylor Greene and Thomas Massie for supporting the release of the Epstein documents. In his characteristic style, Trump didn't hesitate to continue his weekend-long feud with Greene, referring to her as "Wacky Marjorie 'Traitor' Brown" and accusing her of being "the cause of all of her own problems."

Trump framed the entire Epstein controversy as a strategic trap set by Democrats to divert attention from what he described as the "Great Success of the Republican Party" and their "Record Setting Achievements." He urged his party to focus on their accomplishments rather than falling into what he called the "Epstein TRAP," which he claimed was actually "a curse on the Democrats, not us."

The former president concluded with his signature campaign slogan, "MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!" while maintaining that the Epstein investigation paralleled previous controversies he characterized as hoaxes, specifically mentioning the "Russia, Russia, Russia Scam."
