Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, has responded to the wave of criticism he received from Nigerians after photos surfaced online showing him with his sons during an official assignment in the United Arab Emirates.
The former Rivers State governor didn't hold back during his response, firmly defending his decision to include his children in the diplomatic mission. "What is the problem there?" Wike questioned during an interaction with journalists in Abuja.
Wike's Justification: Educational Exposure
The minister explained that his sons were present to observe and learn about governance processes firsthand. "My sons are not criminals. They are not kids. They are graduates. So what is your problem?" he fired back at critics.
Wike emphasized the educational value of exposing young adults to international diplomacy and governance mechanisms. "If they want to learn, what is your problem? Is it when they are involved in drugs that you will be happy?" he challenged his detractors.
