Anioma State Senate Primary Not Over Yet, Says Nwoko

Senator representing Delta North Senatorial District, Ned Nwoko, has cautioned those rejoicing at his perceived loss at the All Progressives Congress (APC) straw poll to exercise caution. Speaking through his Director of Media, Barrister Tonnie Oganah, the Senator said those claiming victory risk running afoul of the law, contending that the official and authentic results of the exercise can only be announced from the APC National Headquarters in Abuja.

He maintained that until the result is signed by the APC chairman, Prof Nentawe Yilwatda, nobody should create the impression that there are factions in the party, stressing: “All the candidates in the election have their strongholds and announcing partial results amount to half-truth, and half-truths are embellished lies capable of misleading the public.”

Legislative Agenda and Anioma Dream

On the attempt to abort his legislative agenda, Nwoko said that his Senatorial mandate symbolises the Anioma dream of identity and economic liberation, pointing out that he is determined to see Anioma producing three Senators and nine House of Representatives members as opposed to only one and three Senator and three Reps, respectively.

The Senator further expressed the hope that the list of State Assembly members and councillors will triple, just as new Local Government Areas will be created, while Asaba remains as state capital. He stated: “Anioma people don’t want to enter the Guinness Book of Records for negativity by not supporting Ned Nwoko and President Tinubu, both of whom are working to actualise the dream of empowering Nigerians generally and the Anioma nation in particular.”

Party Supremacy and Legal Compliance

“The party is supreme and will consider several factors before officially naming their flag bearer in any election, which has to be someone without any EFCC baggage or pending criminal matter. “What is more, there has to be clear evidence in the public domain of resignation from a former political party before membership of a new party can be valid under both the electoral law and the APC constitution. Membership of two or more political parties is an offence and no one is above the law.”

Nwoko maintained that Anioma people are not stupid and short-sighted as to abandon their bright future, merely because of crumbs and inducement offered by other candidates, adding that he has been known to be the first top politician in Delta State to openly declare support for President Bola Tinubu and the APC long before others joined.

He assured that at the appropriate time during elections in January 2027 the entire Anioma nation will say thank you to Mr President by voting for the APC all the way.
