CDCFIB Unveils Critical Guidelines for 2025 Recruitment Online Examination
The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has officially announced comprehensive guidelines for shortlisted candidates participating in the online Computer-Based Test (CBT) for the 2025 recruitment exercise. The highly anticipated examination is scheduled to commence on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. in Abuja.
Strict Access Control and Anti-Malpractice Measures
In a significant announcement made through social media platform X, the Board's Secretary, Maj. Gen. A. M. Jibril (Rtd), emphasized that only candidates who have been officially scheduled for the recruitment exercise will be permitted to access the examination portal. The Board issued a stern warning against any form of examination malpractice, revealing that the CBT will be AI-proctored with advanced systems designed to detect and prevent cheating attempts, device manipulation, and third-party interference.
The statement clearly indicated that "All candidates must carefully study and adhere to the examination rules to avoid disqualification". This underscores the Board's commitment to maintaining the integrity of the recruitment process.
Technical Requirements and Examination Environment
CDCFIB has provided specific technical recommendations to ensure candidates have a smooth examination experience. Applicants are strongly advised to secure:
- A stable internet connection
- Consistent power supply
- Reliable computing device, preferably a laptop
While the Board acknowledged that mobile phones and tablets could be used for the test, it issued a crucial warning that any interruptions such as incoming calls or switching between applications could trigger violation alerts. The statement explicitly cautioned that "Repeated violations will result in automatic failure".
Portal Access and Examination Procedures
The Board detailed the examination procedure, noting that the recruitment portal at recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng will open 30 minutes before each scheduled examination session. Candidates are expected to log in during their assigned examination window and complete a mandatory photo verification process.
After verification, applicants must remain in the virtual waiting room until the test begins automatically. In a considerate provision for technical difficulties, the Board confirmed that candidates who experience disconnection during the examination will be allowed to rejoin within their allocated time and continue from where they stopped.
Maj. Gen. Jibril concluded the announcement by wishing all participating applicants success, while reiterating that strict adherence to the examination rules is essential for ensuring a fair and transparent recruitment process.
The Board also took the opportunity to warn the public against fake recruitment information circulating online, emphasizing that it has not authorized any individual or organization to publish or distribute lists of shortlisted candidates for the ongoing recruitment exercise.
