The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has officially announced a new recruitment drive to fill critical mid-management positions within the Federal Fire Service. The announcement, made public on Monday, December 1, 2025, calls on qualified public sector employees to submit their applications within a strict one-week deadline.
Available Positions and Strict Application Guidelines
According to the official notice released from the Board's headquarters at the Old Federal Secretariat in Area 1, Garki, Abuja, the recruitment aims to address existing gaps in the nation's fire management architecture. The specific positions advertised are for Deputy Controller of Fire (CONPASS 14), Assistant Controller of Fire (CONPASS 13), Chief Superintendent of Fire (CONPASS 12), Superintendent of Fire (CONPASS 11), and Deputy Superintendent of Fire (CONPASS 10).
The Board has issued a clear warning that candidates must apply for only one position, as submitting multiple applications will result in automatic disqualification. All applications and required scanned documents must be sent to the Secretary to the Board via the dedicated official email address: info@cdcfib.gov.ng.
Detailed Eligibility Criteria for Applicants
The CDCFIB outlined stringent statutory requirements that all prospective candidates must meet. Firstly, applicants must already be serving employees of Federal, State, or Local Government ministries, departments, or agencies. Physical requirements include a minimum height of 1.65 meters for men and 1.60 meters for women, alongside being physically and mentally fit.
Other mandatory conditions include having a clean criminal record and possessing evidence of confirmation of appointment. The required documents for submission are:
- A letter of identification from the applicant's local government of origin.
- Three years' worth of APER or PMS reports.
- A Certified True Copy (CTC) of the record of service.
- Letters of previous appointments.
The Board emphasized that these conditions are designed to ensure only suitably qualified and properly documented officers are considered, maintaining the integrity of the recruitment process.
Transparency and Related Recruitment Updates
The CDCFIB assured that the exercise is transparent and open to all eligible internal and external applicants currently serving within government establishments. The Board's stated goal is to strengthen the Federal Fire Service with competent officers who meet the established national standards.
In a related development, the Board also provided an update for candidates shortlisted in the broader 2025 recruitment exercise for Immigration, Fire Service, and other services. The portal for physical screening and document verification, initially set to open on December 1, has been postponed. The CDCFIB stated that the portal will now open "as soon as possible" and advised all shortlisted applicants to regularly check the official recruitment website, recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng, for the latest updates.
Prospective applicants for the newly announced mid-management roles are urged to compile their documents promptly and submit them before the one-week window closes.
