Dr. Oluwademilade Akin-Alabi, widely recognized as GENIO, has officially declared his intention to contest for the Ibadan North East Constituency seat in the Oyo State House of Assembly under the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2027 elections. He positions himself as a representative of a new wave of leadership in the state.

Speaking to journalists, Akin-Alabi emphasized his dedication to bringing fresh ideas and strategies that break away from outdated systems. He stated, “The people are ready for real change, and I am committed to ensuring that the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is felt across every part of my constituency.” He added that the APC aligns with his vision for inclusive governance, youth participation, and grassroots development.
Background and Vision
Akin-Alabi, a European-trained medical doctor, believes his academic and professional background equips him with discipline, critical thinking, and a sense of responsibility. He plans to run a grassroots-driven, youth-focused campaign, leveraging both physical and digital platforms. His slogan, “àwa l’ókàn” (it is our time), underscores his call for youth leadership.
He highlighted that his medical experience provides insight into public health and human well-being, which will shape his legislative priorities. His vision includes decentralizing governance, enhancing transparency, and empowering local governments. Key focus areas include youth-centric reforms, strengthening primary healthcare, supporting entrepreneurship, improving education, and ensuring accountability.
