Edo Deputy Governor Idahosa Warns Plotters: 'We Are United Like Rock of Gibraltar'
Edo Deputy Governor Warns Against Attempts to Divide Govt

The Deputy Governor of Edo State, Hon. Dennis Idahosa, has issued a stern warning to individuals he accused of trying to create a rift between him and the state governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo. He urged them to channel their energy into supporting the administration's development programs instead.

A Firm Rejection of Discord

In a strongly-worded statement personally signed and released to journalists in Benin City on Friday, January 16, 2026, Idahosa described any move to weaken his bond with the governor as futile and destined to fail. He identified the alleged plotters as distractors who are uncomfortable with the administration's focused approach to practical governance.

The deputy governor stated that he became aware of certain individuals sponsoring false narratives online in a desperate bid to sow seeds of discord. He, however, declared that their efforts would yield no result as long as he and the governor remain united.

An Unshakeable Bond of Loyalty

Idahosa used vivid language to illustrate his steadfast support for Governor Okpebholo, dismissing the online smear campaigns targeting the government and its officials.

"Let it be clearly stated that their efforts will amount to nothing," Idahosa declared. "As long as my boss, my senior brother, and I remain united, every of such plan is bound to fail."

He went further to affirm, "I, Dennis Osagbemwenrue Idahosa, stand solidly behind my boss like the Rock of Gibraltar. I stand where he stands, and I sit where he sits." The deputy governor emphasized that any attempt to divide the leadership team was "dead on arrival" and a waste of time.

Focus Remains on the SHINE Agenda

Beyond addressing the alleged plots, Deputy Governor Idahosa reaffirmed the administration's primary commitment to delivering on its campaign promises to the people of Edo State. He highlighted that the Okpebholo-led government is concentrated on implementing its SHINE Agenda for development.

He called on residents of the state to remain steadfast in their support for the government, urging everyone to look beyond distractions and focus on the collective progress of Edo State. The statement served as both a rebuke to perceived enemies and a rallying cry for continued public trust in the administration's vision.
