Eno Praises Etinan Chairman for ARISE Agenda Success

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has commissioned an ultra-modern bus terminus in Etinan Local Government Area, commending the council chairman, Hon. Uko Umoh, for effectively advancing the ARISE Agenda through transformative projects and people-oriented empowerment programs.

Governor's Praise for Grassroots Leadership

In his goodwill message, the Governor extended warm commendation to the Etinan Council Chairman for the successful delivery of the Ultra-Modern Bus Terminus and the accompanying empowerment scheme. He described the initiative as laudable, reflecting purposeful and effective leadership aligned with the ARISE Agenda's focus on rural development, economic empowerment, and people-centered governance.

Represented by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mkpisong Frank Archibong, Governor Umo Eno praised the Etinan Council Chairman for prioritizing the welfare of the people. The Governor noted that the projects are designed not only to improve transportation and commercial activities within Etinan Local Government Area but also to empower citizens and create opportunities for economic growth.

“Your responsiveness to the needs of the people is evident in these impactful projects aimed at enhancing transportation, commerce, and economic growth in Etinan. On behalf of the Government and people of Akwa Ibom State, I commend your commitment to grassroots development and pray for greater wisdom and strength as you continue to serve, while urging others to emulate your selfless leadership in bringing governance closer to the people,” the Governor said.

Empowerment and Infrastructure Focus

The Governor also charged beneficiaries of the empowerment scheme to make productive use of the items received, while reaffirming his administration’s commitment to sustainable infrastructure and inclusive governance across the state.

Dignitaries at the event, including the political leader of Etinan, Isangntim Kenneth Okon; Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Uko Udom; House of Representatives member, Paul Ekpo; Paramount ruler of Etinan, HRM Edidem Akpanobong; and Etinan State lawmaker, Uduak Ekpo Ufot, applauded Etinan Council Chairman, Uko Umoh, for redefining grassroots leadership through his “New Etinan is Possible” vision. They described his administration as impactful and development-driven.

Also speaking, ALGON Chairman and Uyo Council boss, Dr. Uwemedimo Udo, commended the council helmsman for prudent management of council resources, while praising Governor Eno for entrenching visible good governance across the state.

Event Highlights and Requests

The event featured the presentation of cheques to beneficiaries, distribution of food items, and the donation of locally designed bicycles by an indigenous entrepreneur to the Governor, Deputy Governor, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, as well as the ALGON Chairman.

In his remarks, the Etinan Council Chairman, Umoh, commended the Akwa Ibom State Governor for his transformational leadership and appealed for the establishment of a commercial bank and mini stadium in Etinan. The Governor’s representative assured that these requests would be conveyed for consideration.
