Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has been conferred with the prestigious ZIK International Peace and Leadership Award in Accra, Ghana, in recognition of his administration's transformative achievements over the past three years. The honour was bestowed at the 7th edition of the award ceremony held on Friday at the British Council in Accra.

The award's board and governing council cited Governor Lawal's significant progress in public sector leadership and economic reforms in Zamfara State as key reasons for the recognition. The ceremony, themed “Leadership, Peace, and Regional Integration: Advancing Africa’s Development in a Changing Global Order,” brought together dignitaries from across the continent to celebrate exemplary leadership.
His Royal Highness Professor Echefuna R G Onyeabadi, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the ZIK Pan-African Award, explained that the award aims to honour individuals making meaningful contributions in service to the people. The award is named after the late Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, Nigeria's first president, and celebrates leaders who embody his legacy of peace and development.
