Youth-Led APC Group Stages Massive Show of Support in Yenagoa

A youth-driven political organization in Bayelsa State has organized a significant public demonstration backing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and former Governor Timipre Sylva through a solidarity procession across key areas of Yenagoa on Monday.

Members of the Tinubu Sylva APC Bayelsa Vanguard marched through major thoroughfares while advocating for unity within the party and reaffirming their allegiance to both national and state leaders.

Convener Defends Sylva's Political Legacy

The group's leader, Comrade John Ayebabomote Birakumo, informed participants that Sylva remains a fundamental figure in the All Progressives Congress structure. He characterized the former governor as a party trailblazer whose extensive involvement has significantly strengthened the APC's presence in Bayelsa and throughout the region.

Birakumo emphasized that Sylva had made substantial sacrifices during challenging periods of opposition politics and maintained his commitment to the APC even when alternative parties seemed more appealing to certain politicians.

"We are raising awareness to alert Bayelsans and the entire APC family that Chief Timiprye Sylva remains a committed and visionary leader of the APC," Birakumo declared during the rally.

He connected recent legal and political difficulties encountered by Sylva to opponents who, in his view, felt threatened by the former governor's extensive regional influence.

Planned Weekly Rallies Across Bayelsa

Birakumo clarified that the solidarity walk represented only the initial phase of a broader mobilization campaign. He revealed that additional activities would be conducted throughout the state to generate support for both Sylva and President Tinubu.

The convener also urged the president to disregard what he termed false narratives designed to create division. The group asserted that Bayelsa residents support the developmental vision and stability agenda of both leaders.

According to Birakumo, Sylva's lengthy engagement in public service has earned him widespread respect among APC members and supporters across the state. He added that the former governor's role in national politics continues to influence discussions about progress in the Niger Delta region.

The group maintained that Sylva's supporters would persistently resist what they perceive as attempts to undermine his political foundation.

Organizers confirmed that weekly rallies would continue across various locations in Bayelsa State as part of their ongoing campaign to demonstrate support for the embattled former governor and the national leadership.
