Lagos APM Candidate Adeoye Praises Makinde for Rescue of Schoolchildren

Prince Laja Adeoye, the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) governorship candidate in Lagos State, has commended Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde for his leadership during the successful rescue of pupils and teachers abducted in Oriire Local Government Area. Adeoye attributed the safe return of the victims after weeks in captivity to the governor's resolve and commitment to residents' welfare.

No-Ransom Policy Hailed

Central to Adeoye's praise was Makinde's decision to refuse negotiating with or paying ransom to the kidnappers. According to Adeoye, this stance sets a strong precedent for confronting criminal elements without yielding to their demands. He described the outcome as a significant achievement for the state's security approach.

Intelligence-Driven Operation

The APM candidate credited the operation's success to intelligence-led security strategies and robust inter-agency coordination. He specifically praised the Oyo State Security Network Agency, known as Amotekun, along with other security personnel for their professionalism and dedication throughout the rescue mission.

“The successful operation reflects the effectiveness of intelligence-driven security strategies, strong collaboration among security agencies, and the determination of the Oyo State Government to confront criminal elements without compromising the long-term security of the state,” Adeoye said.

Call for Public Cooperation

Beyond commending the governor and security operatives, Adeoye appealed to Nigerians to actively support law enforcement by sharing timely and credible information about suspicious activities in their communities. He argued that lasting security cannot rely solely on government action and that sustained citizen–agency cooperation is essential to combat kidnapping and other violent crimes nationwide.

Adeoye also congratulated the rescued pupils, teachers, and their families, expressing hope that the operation's outcome would restore public confidence in Nigeria's security institutions and spur continued efforts toward durable peace.
