The Niger State Police Command has apprehended a 13-year-old boy for the alleged rape of a 4-year-old girl in the Bosso area of the state. The suspect, identified as Ibrahim Sani, is accused of luring the minor to a dilapidated building where he sexually assaulted her.
Details of the Incident
According to the police spokesperson, SP Wasiu Abiodun, who disclosed this in a statement on Friday, May 22, 2026, the suspect threatened to kill the child if she informed anyone about the assault. The incident reportedly occurred on May 14, 2026, at around 11 a.m.
The statement read: “On 14th May 2026 at about 10pm, a report received at Bosso Div indicated that on the same date, at about 11am, one Ibrahim Sani, 13yrs, residing behind Bosso Primary School, took a 4yr old girl to a dilapidated building in the same area and forcefully had carnal knowledge of her, after which he threatened to kill her if she attempt to inform anyone.”
Police Action and Investigation
Upon receipt of the report, the victim was immediately rushed to the Police Clinic in Minna for medical examination. The suspect was also apprehended and has confessed to the crime. The case is currently under investigation and will soon be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further action.
The police command has assured the public that justice will be served in this case, emphasizing the importance of protecting children from such heinous acts.
