Creator AlvinOfLagos criticises high airport taxi fares in Lagos
AlvinOfLagos slams high airport taxi costs

Content creator AlvinOfLagos has raised concerns over the high cost of transportation from Lagos airport. In a video, he complained about what he described as inflated ride fares, claiming that some drivers charge between ₦40,000 and ₦50,000 for trips that would typically cost far less.

Refusal to accept trips

According to him, many ride-hailing drivers reportedly refuse trips unless the fare is significantly increased, often citing airport charges as the reason. Frustrated by the situation, he said he resorted to using a motorcycle to leave the airport.

Lack of regulation

He also questioned the lack of regulation, noting that passengers who already spend over ₦150,000 on flight tickets are still expected to pay tens of thousands more just to get home. The creator expressed his displeasure with the current state of affairs, emphasizing that the system seems to exploit travelers who have no alternative but to pay the high fares.
