Bandits have killed a man and abducted his brother in Kubwa, Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT. The tragic incident occurred at the new quarry layout on Arab Road on Sunday, June 7, 2026.
Details of the Attack
According to reports, the bandits broke into a house where they killed a resident identified as Muftahu and abducted his younger brother, Abubakar Sadiq. A resident named Lawal Yahaya informed Daily Trust during a visit on Monday that the attackers arrived around 11 p.m. and operated for about two hours before leaving.
Yahaya stated that the owner of the house, a female fashion designer known as Hajiya, was heard pleading for help from neighbors, but no one came to their rescue. However, a tailor working for the designer managed to escape unhurt by hiding in the house ceiling. He remained there until morning when security personnel arrived for investigation.
“That was when he suddenly jumped out from the ceiling to everyone’s surprise,” Yahaya said.
Previous Incident
This is not the first attack on the neighborhood. In December 2022, during a similar incident, an occupant of the house identified as Oshodi was killed, and his neighbor, a woman, was abducted.
A senior police officer at the Byazhin Division in Kubwa, where the incident occurred, confirmed the attack.
