Barron Trump's Emergency Call to UK Police Revealed in Court

The response that Barron Trump, the youngest son of former US President Donald Trump, gave after a dispatcher accused him of being rude has been played in a London court. This incident occurred during an emergency phone call made to the City of London police on a cold January night last year, where Barron Trump reported a woman being assaulted.

The Details of the Emergency Call

On January 18, 2025, at 2:23 a.m. local time, Barron Trump called the UK police from the United States. He stated, "I’m calling from the U.S. I just got a call from a girl, you know, she’s getting beat up." During the call, he did not identify himself but provided the woman's name and address, explaining he had witnessed the assault on a video call minutes earlier.

When the call handler asked how he knew the woman, Barron Trump replied, "I mean these details don’t matter, she’s getting beat up." The call handler insisted on more information, leading to an exchange where the handler said, "Can you stop being rude and actually answer my questions." Barron Trump eventually apologized, saying, "So, sorry for being rude," after answering several more questions.

The Court Trial and Evidence

The call was used as evidence in the trial of Matvei Rumiantsev, a 22-year-old Russian citizen charged with offenses including assault, strangulation, and rape against his former partner. The woman, who cannot be named due to British law protecting rape victims' anonymity, testified in court, stating of Barron Trump, "He helped save my life. That call was like a sign from God at that moment."

Prosecutors revealed that Barron Trump will not testify in person, but his emergency call and an email he sent to the City of London Police in May last year were submitted as evidence. In the email, he described the woman as someone "who I am very close with" and mentioned meeting her over social media. He detailed the video call, noting the man was shirtless with dark hair and the victim was being hit while crying.

Defense and Additional Charges

Matvei Rumiantsev has denied all charges, claiming the woman was violent toward him on the night in question and attempted to punch him. He said he answered Barron Trump's call and put the camera toward her, hoping she would realize her behavior was unreasonable. Additionally, he pleaded not guilty to a charge of attempting to pervert the course of justice, accused of pressuring the woman to withdraw her accusations.

Documents showed the woman had made two earlier calls to police that were interrupted before details could be obtained. Rumiantsev was arrested on the same day as Barron Trump's call and faces six offenses, including incidents from November 2024.

The trial at Snaresbrook Crown Court continues, with the emergency call playing a crucial role in the proceedings.
