An accident involving a Honda vehicle and two commercial tricycles has left many injured at the Federal Bus Stop along Ipaja Road in Lagos State. The crash occurred at approximately 8:50 a.m. on May 16, according to reports gathered at the scene.
Details of the Accident
The Honda car, bearing registration number KTU 921 JY, reportedly crashed into two commercial tricycles. Eyewitnesses stated that about 10 passengers suffered varying degrees of injuries as a result of the collision.
According to reports, the driver of the Honda vehicle swerved while trying to avoid hitting a street sweeper attached to the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA). Witnesses alleged that the driver still struck the sweeper before losing control of the vehicle, which reportedly crossed to the opposite lane and collided with the two tricycles.
Rescue and Medical Response
The injured passengers were first taken to a nearby private medical facility for emergency treatment. Some of them were later transferred to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital for further care.
Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force from the Gowon Divisional Headquarters, officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), and neighbourhood security personnel were seen at the scene coordinating rescue efforts and controlling traffic flow.
