Car Thief Caught in the Act at Plateau Hospital
Security personnel at Plateau State Specialist Hospital in Jos have successfully apprehended a suspected car thief who was attempting to steal a vehicle right within the hospital premises. The incident occurred on the morning of Friday, November 7, 2025, showcasing both alertness from the public and efficiency from security forces.
The Failed Theft Attempt
According to hospital authorities, the suspect targeted a Toyota Camry parked near the Amenity Ward around 7:15 a.m. What the thief didn't realize was that the vehicle's owner was still seated inside the car. The suspect attempted to unlock the car using what appeared to be a master key, immediately alerting the occupant.
The quick-thinking car owner immediately grabbed the suspect and raised an alarm, drawing the attention of hospital security personnel who were on duty. The security team responded swiftly to the scene and took the suspect into custody.
Swift Security Response and Handover to Police
Thanks to the prompt intervention of both the vehicle owner and hospital security, the theft was prevented successfully. The hospital's Public Relations Officer, Talatu Achan Angi, confirmed that the suspect was detained on site before being transferred to the "A" Division Police Station in Jos for further investigation and potential prosecution.
