Dutch teen stabs parents death sends photos

A 15-year-old girl from Groningen, Netherlands, who reportedly identified as a dog, has been arrested after allegedly stabbing her parents to death and wounding the family's pet golden retriever. She then sent gruesome crime scene photos to her classmates via WhatsApp, according to Dutch media reports.

Attack and Aftermath

The incident occurred on Thursday, June 18, when Johan and Mathilda, both 53, were found fatally stabbed in their home in Meerstad, a district of Groningen. The family's golden retriever also sustained stab wounds, though its condition remains unclear. The teen suspect was taken into custody shortly after the attack.

According to the Dutch outlet Algemeen Dagblad, the girl took photos of her slain parents and shared them with friends on WhatsApp. One student told the Telegraaf, “You could see both of her parents lying on the ground with their eyes open. Her father was lying on the floor, and her mother was on the bed. There was blood visible and a knife.”

School Behavior and Identity

Classmates described the teen as struggling with her identity, often pretending to be a dog. She would crawl on all fours, bark, and wear a tail, dog ears, and gloves in school corridors. “She wore a tail, dog ears, and gloves. And sometimes she would make barking sounds,” another classmate told the outlet.

Family and Police Response

Relatives of the victims issued a statement through an aid organization, saying, “We hope that everyone understands that we are deeply affected by the tragic events surrounding the passing of Johan and Mathilda from Meerstad. But the support and sympathy we have received from many do us good and are heartwarming.” Local police declined to comment on the images but urged the public not to distribute such content and to report it to authorities. The investigation into the slayings remains ongoing.
