EFCC Arraigns Blessing CEO Over N69.15 Million Fraud

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arraigned social media personality and self-styled relationship therapist Okoro Blessing Nkiruka, popularly known as Blessing CEO, before the Special Offences Court in Ikeja, Lagos. The arraignment took place on Tuesday, with the EFCC bringing a two-count charge against her over an alleged fraud of N69.15 million.

Charges and Court Proceedings

The EFCC, through its Lagos Zonal Directorate 1, accused Blessing CEO of obtaining money under false pretences and stealing the sum of N69,150,000. During the proceedings before Justice R.A. Oshodi, prosecution counsel C.C. Okezie urged the court to proceed with the arraignment, stating that the defendant had been properly served with the charge. However, defence counsel Nkama Nneka argued that the service was only recently effected.

Judge's Ruling

After considering both submissions, Justice Oshodi ruled that the arraignment should proceed in line with legal provisions. The charges were subsequently read to the defendant, marking the commencement of trial proceedings in the matter.
