Eight Arrested for Killing Man Buried Alive in Benue

Eight individuals have been taken into custody in connection with the brutal killing of a 32-year-old man, Nyamkyegh Mpalegh, who was allegedly assaulted and buried alive in the Kwande Local Government Area of Benue State. The incident took place around 5:30 p.m. on April 27, 2026, in the Tse-Bata community within the Mbakyagher Council Ward.

According to reports, the victim was subjected to severe physical assault before being interred alive by the suspects. The circumstances surrounding the attack remain under active investigation by the authorities.

Following a report of the incident, a security team was swiftly deployed to the area, resulting in the arrest of eight suspects believed to have been involved in the crime. Security analyst Zagazola Makama confirmed that the victim's body was later exhumed and deposited at a mortuary for further forensic examination.
