Ologe Family Breaks Nine-Year Silence Over Son's Tragic Death and Grave Desecration
For the Ologe family of Isoko South Local Council in Delta State, the pain of losing their beloved son, Oghenekaro Ologe, has never truly subsided, even nine years after his untimely demise. On December 17, 2017, Oghenekaro was tragically electrocuted at his residence while supervising workers, when a pumping machine with exposed wiring discharged a fatal current, killing him instantly. What began as a routine day ended in profound loss for a family who remembers him as an industrious man dedicated to his wife and four children.
A Legacy of Hard Work and Family Devotion
According to his brother, Emu Ologe, the deceased built a considerable estate through years of relentless effort, acquiring multiple properties across the Satellite and FESTAC areas of Lagos, running commercial shops, and providing a comfortable life for his family. "He loved those children with everything in him," Emu recalled, highlighting Oghenekaro's deep commitment to his three daughters and one son.
In the aftermath of his death, the family made a conscious decision to allow the widow, Ogaga Oghene Odiru, space to grieve and manage the estate while raising the children without interference. They believed this approach was in the best interest of all parties, hoping it would foster stability during a difficult time.
Deteriorating Relations and Disturbing Developments
However, the family claims that communication with the widow grew increasingly strained over time, for reasons unknown to them. "Repeated attempts by family members to check on the welfare of the children were rebuffed," the bereaved brother stated, describing a growing sense of isolation and concern.
The situation took a hopeful turn in 2022 when a fire outbreak occurred in the Adosoba community where Oghenekaro's house is located. The family immediately visited, repaired the damage, and spent joyful time with the children, fostering optimism for improved relations. Yet, this hope was short-lived as more distressing events unfolded.
Tragic Health Incidents and Property Disputes
The family recounted a series of alarming incidents, including when one of Oghenekaro's young daughters fell critically ill. Despite their efforts to reach out through a mutual friend, the widow refused calls and informed them the children had traveled to her siblings. Later, when the eldest child, Oghenezino, became ill, the widow allegedly took her to a church for prayers instead of seeking immediate medical attention, while assuring the family the girl had recovered. By the time she was eventually hospitalized, her condition had deteriorated beyond recovery, and she did not survive.
"That loss broke our hearts all over again," the family lamented, emphasizing the emotional toll of being kept in the dark about the children's well-being. Subsequently, they began receiving reports that Oghenekaro's properties were being sold or donated as "seed of faith" to prophets and churches by the widow.
Grave Desecration and Remarriage Revelation
The most devastating revelation, according to the family, involves the property in Abule Ado community, Ado Soba village, where Oghenekaro was buried. They claim it has been put up for sale, with an engineer engaged to prepare it for transaction. In what they describe as an act of profound desecration, the engineer was allegedly instructed to exhume Oghenekaro's remains as a condition for the sale, a process carried out without notifying the family.
"When we heard that our brother's grave had been opened and his remains removed without our knowledge, we were shattered. It felt like losing him all over again," one family member expressed. Adding to their distress, they allege the widow remarried without their knowledge and is now expecting a child with her new spouse.
Urgent Concerns for Children's Welfare
The family stresses that their most pressing concern is not the loss of property, but the welfare of the four children. Sources close to them indicate the children have been rendered homeless, moving between churches and the homes of well-meaning strangers in search of shelter and stability. "We are ready to raise them, send them to school and give them the stability their father worked so hard for," Emu Ologe asserted, noting repeated appeals to the widow to relinquish guardianship have been declined.
He explained that the family chose to speak publicly not out of a desire for conflict, but from a conviction that silence is no longer an option. "Our brother worked all his life for those children," he said. "Today, we don't even know where they sleep."
Grandmother's Heartbreak and Deteriorating Health

For nine years, she has watched from a distance, unable to hold her grandchildren or know whether they are fed, safe, or remember her. "She cries every day," her son revealed. "Every single day, she knows those children are not okay. She can feel it. And there is nothing she can do." The family describes her condition as a deep psychological and emotional distress, an affliction born entirely of heartbreak, and her deteriorating health has become an additional burden emotionally and financially.
"We are not just asking for justice for Oghenekaro; we are asking for his mother. We are asking for a woman who deserves to look her grandchildren in the eyes before it is too late," the family added, underscoring their plea for resolution and reconnection.
