Troops Rescue Farmer After Machete Attack

Troops from Sector 8 of Operation Enduring Peace have responded to an alleged assault on a farmer by suspected herders in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State. Military sources told security analyst Zagazola Makama that the incident occurred at about 7:00 p.m. on July 11, 2026, at Jwakp Maitumbi Village.

The victim, identified as Mr. Timothy Titus, was reportedly attacked by suspected herders and sustained machete cuts during the assault. Upon arrival at the scene, troops found the victim with multiple machete injuries and immediately evacuated him to the General Hospital, Mangu, where he is currently receiving treatment.

Investigation Underway

Security sources said efforts are ongoing to identify and apprehend the perpetrators, while investigations have commenced to establish the circumstances surrounding the attack. The military has assured the public that they are committed to maintaining peace and security in the area.
