The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has initiated a full-scale investigation into the death of Mr. Ademike Godwin, who was reportedly stabbed in the Guzape district of Abuja. Unconfirmed reports circulating on social media suggest that the deceased may have been attacked by his own son, a serving member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). However, police authorities have not yet verified this claim.

Police Response and Discovery

According to FCT Police Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh, the command received a distress call from concerned neighbors who were unable to reach or gain access to Mr. Godwin at his residence. Officers were immediately dispatched to the scene, where they discovered the victim lying in a pool of blood. He was rushed to Karu General Hospital, where doctors on duty confirmed his death.

Suspects in Custody

Adeh stated that five suspects, including a relative of the deceased, have been taken into custody as part of a discreet investigation ordered by the Commissioner of Police, Ahammed Muhammed Sanusi. The police are conducting forensic examinations and interviewing witnesses to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
