The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police command has initiated psychological testing for its officers to evaluate their mental and health stability. Commissioner of Police Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi flagged off the exercise at the Maitama Police Command, urging all officers to participate. He assured that results would remain confidential and be communicated privately, with measures taken to address any identified issues.
Results to Aid Planning
Sanusi stated that the results would form a data set for the FCT command's planning purposes. He emphasized that adequate provisions have been made to ensure every personnel is assessed, followed by confirmation tests as a final phase. The psychological assessment aims to guarantee the highest standards of professionalism in policing duties.
Parade of JAMB Exam Suspects
In a separate development, the Police Force Headquarters paraded four suspects involved in allegedly compromising the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination system during the recently concluded tertiary school entrance exam. Police Force Public Relations Officer Anthony Placid briefed journalists in Abuja on Friday, stating that the suspects are under investigation and will soon be charged in court.
The Force PRO stressed that the police will continue collaborating with JAMB to ensure exam integrity and urged those attempting to frustrate the police to reconsider their actions.
JAMB's Proactive Measures
Dr. Benjamin Fabian, JAMB's Public Relations Officer, remarked that the examination body had anticipated such tendencies and implemented proactive measures from its head office in Abuja. He said JAMB tracks all developments and will apprehend anyone attempting to hack or manipulate data. Describing the accused as a dangerous examination syndicate, Dr. Fabian announced that the involved centers have been canceled and affected candidates will be rescheduled.
