Group Condemns Oyo School Attack, Demands Rescue

The Law Graduates Association of Nigeria (LAWGAN) has strongly condemned the attack on Community High School, Ahoro-Esinle, in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, describing it as a barbaric assault on education, humanity, and national security. In a statement signed by President Kayode Bello and Public Relations Officer Ojo Clement, the group expressed outrage over the incident.

During the attack, armed bandits reportedly beheaded a teacher, Mr. Michael Oyedokun, and abducted several students, teachers, and the school principal. LAWGAN stated that this incident represents a deeply disturbing escalation in attacks against educational institutions, emphasizing that schools, meant to be safe spaces for learning, are increasingly becoming targets of violent criminal activity.

The association extended condolences to the family of the deceased teacher, the management and students of Community High School, Ahoro-Esinle, and residents of Oriire Local Government Area, urging them to remain resilient in the face of this tragedy. LAWGAN called on the Federal Government, the Oyo State Government, and security agencies to urgently ensure the immediate and unconditional release of all abducted students and staff still in captivity. It also demanded intensified security operations across affected areas.
