NBA superstar James Harden's mugshot has been released following his arrest on a weapon charge. The Cleveland Cavaliers player was taken into custody on Saturday in Houston on a misdemeanor charge of unlawful carrying of a weapon in a motor vehicle, according to the Harris County District Clerk's Office.
Arrest Details
Harden was arrested at 3:41 a.m. and booked just before 5 a.m. He posted a $100 bond and was released from police custody, according to charging documents. The documents stated that he had a handgun in plain view and it was not secured in a holster.
Court Proceedings
Harris County records show Harden was released from jail on bond later Saturday morning and given an arraignment date of June 22. However, the records also indicate that hearing date was rescheduled on Monday to August 3.
According to the records, Harden has hired high-powered Texas attorney Rusty Hardin to represent him in the case. Hardin has previously represented several famous professional athletes, including Deshaun Watson when the NFL quarterback was accused of sexual misconduct by multiple massage therapists.
Mugshot Released
In Harden's mugshot, which was provided by the Houston Police Department on Monday, he can be seen wearing a black T-shirt and a stern look on his face.
