The Kano State Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with the killing of Ibrahim Khalil Danshagamu, a resident of Gaida Quarters in Kumbotso Local Government Area, Kano State. Danshagamu was found dead in a pool of blood at his home in Gaida, Kano, after unknown attackers broke in late Monday night, September 8, 2026, and assaulted him with sharp objects.

The attack occurred at approximately 11:30 p.m., when the Vigilante Group Commander of Gaida Quarters alerted the police. Officers from the Kumbotso Police Division quickly reached the scene and rushed the victim to Murtala Mohammad Specialist Hospital, Kano, where a medical doctor confirmed him dead on arrival.
The state police spokesperson, CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, made this known in a statement issued via his Facebook page on Wednesday, September 9, 2026. The police credited the Gaida Vigilante Group with providing timely information that enabled the swift response, describing it as a clear example of community policing working as intended.

Following a directive from the Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, the Divisional Police Officer of Kumbotso led a joint operation with tactical unit operatives and community stakeholders.
