Kebbi Police Apprehend Ten Suspects in Brutal Murder and Kidnapping Incident
The Kebbi State Police Command has made a significant breakthrough in a harrowing case, arresting ten individuals suspected of involvement in the murder of Sufiyanu Garba and the abduction of his pregnant wife. According to SP Bashir Usman, the Police Public Relations Officer, the abducted woman, identified as Zainab Mohammad, has been successfully rescued and reunited with her family. The arrests were the result of a coordinated effort by the State Intelligence Department (SID) and the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), utilizing credible intelligence and technical support.
The suspects taken into custody include Zakariya Abubakar Diggi, Joseph Dahali Wanda, Sanda Alhaji, Mamman Abubakar Manu, Aisha Manu, Saudatu Abubakar, Abubakar Muhammad, Betuwa Muhammad, Abdullahi Umaru, and Ja’I Garba. Preliminary investigations have revealed a disturbing detail: two of the suspects, Zakariya Abubakar Diggi and Joseph Dahali Wanda, are SIM registration agents who allegedly specialized in the fraudulent registration of SIM cards using proxy subscriber information.

These fraudulently registered SIM cards were reportedly used by the kidnappers for ransom negotiations, highlighting a sophisticated criminal network.
