The Lagos State Police Command has apprehended a 22-year-old suspected cultist and alleged armed robber in the Ebute Metta area following a distress call from concerned residents.
Arrest and Recovery
According to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, the suspect, identified as Odeshola Afeez, was taken into custody after reports emerged that he was harassing passers-by and creating panic within the community. Police operatives were immediately deployed to the scene, where they arrested the suspect and conducted a search. A locally made pistol, one live cartridge, and local charms were recovered from his possession.
Suspect's Background
Preliminary investigations have revealed that the suspect is a notorious cultist who had been terrorizing residents and engaging in activities that disturb public peace. Further findings indicate that he had been evading arrest before his eventual apprehension by police operatives.
