A 33-year-old Romanian man has been arrested for allegedly kissing a four-year-old British boy in a hotel swimming pool in Magaluf, Majorca. The incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon, May 20, at an unnamed hotel in the popular party resort.
Details of the Incident
According to reports, the suspect approached the young boy and hugged and kissed him on the face in front of shocked holidaymakers. The boy's mother immediately confronted the man, prompting him to stop the act. Witnesses and the child's parents provided statements to the police, leading to the suspect's arrest on suspicion of sexual assault.
Arrest and Court Appearance
The man was taken into custody by Civil Guard officers and escorted to court in Palma, the capital of Majorca, on Thursday afternoon, May 21. He appeared in handcuffs, wearing the same clothing he had on when arrested: a top, shorts, and sandals. The British family involved in the incident has reportedly returned home.
Authorities continue to investigate the case, and the suspect faces legal proceedings for the alleged assault.
