A Malawian national was attacked and critically injured by his girlfriend during a domestic dispute in South Africa. The 40-year-old man was found bleeding extensively from head injuries on the roadside on Monday, June 1, 2026.
When Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) arrived on the scene, witnesses confirmed that the man was assaulted with a piece of wooden plank. They further stated that the injured man had been seen chasing his 38-year-old girlfriend the previous day, Sunday, during a domestic dispute.
In a statement, RUSA said, 'Reaction Officers could not locate the woman responsible for the assault.' The victim was immediately provided with medical attention and transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
