Man Killed by Suspected Kidnappers in Delta State, Activist Shares Details
In a tragic incident, a man was killed by suspected kidnappers in Umuchime Community, located behind Charly Boy back of Fuji Okpanam in Delta State, on March 6. Activist Harrison Gwamnishu has shared the sad story, highlighting the dangers faced by residents in isolated areas.
Details of the Incident
According to Gwamnishu, the victim, whose house is situated in a secluded area, was about to drive into his home at approximately 8 PM when the assailants, who had been trailing him, attempted to enter with him. The attackers first killed the victim's security dog before abducting him. Moments later, he was killed and his body was dumped behind his compound.
Safety Recommendations from Gwamnishu
While recounting this distressing event, Gwamnishu emphasized the importance of safety measures for people living in remote locations. He pointed out that residents should ensure the grasses around their properties are always cleared to prevent them from serving as hiding spots for criminals. Additionally, he mentioned that installing gates that conceal compounds from passersby can enhance security and deter potential threats.
This incident underscores the ongoing security challenges in certain parts of Delta State and serves as a reminder for communities to take proactive steps to protect themselves. Gwamnishu's advocacy aims to raise awareness and encourage better safety practices to prevent such tragedies in the future.
