Mango Founder's Son Arrested on Suspicion of Homicide After Father's Fall
Mango Heir Arrested in Father's Mountain Death Probe

The son of the billionaire founder of fashion giant Mango has been arrested on suspicion of homicide following his father's death in a mountain fall two years ago.

Incident Details

Tycoon Isak Andic, 71, was hiking with his son Jonathan, 45, near the Catalan city in December 2024 when he plunged approximately 500 feet down a cliff to his death. The pair were visiting the Collbato Caves in the Monserrat mountain range near Barcelona when the incident occurred.

Investigation

After initially opening and then closing an investigation into the fatal fall, police confirmed in October that the death was being investigated as a possible homicide. Jonathan Andic was formally placed under investigation by the courts after previously being treated as a witness.

Jonathan was photographed being escorted into a court in Martorell by at least three officers, his head bowed. A decision on whether he will be remanded in custody after giving a statement or released on bail pending an ongoing criminal probe is expected later today.

Family Response

An Andic family spokesman stated: 'The Andic family has not made any comments over the past few months regarding the death of Isak Andic, nor will it do so in the future. However, it wishes to show its respect for the proceedings that have been carried out in this regard and will continue to cooperate with the competent authorities as it has done until now. It is also confident that this process will be concluded as soon as possible and that Jonathan Andic's innocence will be proven.'
