Nigerian Woman Files Legal Action Against FedEx and Myus.com Over Alleged N25 Million Theft
A Nigerian woman has launched a lawsuit against FedEx International and a US-based company called Myus.com, accusing them of collaborating to steal an item valued at $17,000, equivalent to approximately N25 million. The case centers on allegations of fraudulent shipping practices that have left the victim without her valuable package and facing significant financial loss.
Details of the Alleged Shipping Scam
According to a pre-action letter sent to FedEx Nigeria, the woman entrusted Myus.com, also known as Access Shipping USA based in Sarasota, Florida, to ship the item to Nigeria. She sent the package through FedEx on October 28th, 2025, with an expected arrival date of November 5th, 2025. However, the shipment never reached its destination, prompting inquiries into its whereabouts.
Both Myus.com and FedEx reportedly claimed ignorance about the package's disappearance, stating they do not know what happened to it. Despite multiple attempts by the woman to contact both organizations to resolve the issue, her efforts have been met with silence, with no responses or solutions offered.
Warning to the Public About Fraudulent Practices
The woman is now issuing a stern warning to others, urging them to avoid Myus.com, which she describes as a fraudulent entity. She alleges that the company lures individuals into sending items for shipping, only to steal them and later claim the packages were lost. Victims are then blocked from further communication, making it impossible to seek redress or recover their goods.
This incident highlights growing concerns about international shipping scams targeting Nigerians, where trust in logistics companies is exploited for financial gain. The lawsuit against FedEx and Myus.com seeks to hold these entities accountable and recover the lost funds, while also raising awareness to prevent similar occurrences.
As the legal proceedings unfold, this case underscores the importance of due diligence when selecting shipping services, especially for high-value items. It also calls for stricter regulations and oversight in the logistics industry to protect consumers from such deceptive practices.
